Valencia CF help 'Reyes' celebrations with toy donation
January 6th is Spain's 'Three Kings' day, the final part of the Christmas festivities. As such, presents are a mainstay of the night before, and at Mestalla a special event was held this year.
Valencia CF donated toys to around 300 children from families with limited resources, who are habitual recipients of the food drives run at the stadium with the Banco de Alimentos since last May.
Attending on behalf of Valencia CF were Executive Director Joey Lim and Social Ambassadors Ricardo Arias, Miguel Ángel Bossio and Miguel Tendillo. Representing Caixabank was Encarna Alcaide, Social Work Director for the bank in Valencia
Sponsors and club employees also participated, with the VCF Foundation handing out 300 giftbags with footballs and toys, collected over the past few weeks in the Nuevo Centro shopping centre through the ‘Métele un gol a la pobreza’ campaign.
Papa John’s and LaMburguesa donated 300 pizzas and 300 mini-hamburgers, respectively. Hasbro provided a toys and the Banco de Alimentos 300 'roscones de Reyes' cakes.
CaixaBank and the Fundación “la Caixa” helped with the distribution of gifts through volunteers, alongside Valencia CF employee volunteers.
